In Honor of the Late Legend Olympian Gold Medalist/Coach Harvey Glance

My uncle Harvey Glance was one man that you could never forget if you met him, his career was not only excellent, it was very fascinating! But it wasn't easy, nothing about his career was easy, he just made it look easy to everyone. On the morning of June 12th, 2023, was the hardest news I had to hear from my family...I had lost my uncle Harvey, someone who I admired, respected and was very closed to my whole life, I knew it was definitely reality when I saw his decease date dated officially in the Wikipedia article.

He dedicated his entire life to Track and Field, but he definitely gave it his all, being a great example as a Coach was very important to him, he gave wonderful advice when he spoke, he always cared for every person he came in contact with, he shared his experiences with people he knew that needed guidance, he never boasted or bragged about his accomplishments, if anything, he wanted the same or more accomplishments for you, there was never a day that he didn't thank God for his blessings because he never forgot where he grew up and where he started.

That smile, it meant something to all of us, that laughter, was everything if you ever heard him, your heart would just warm up whenever you see him come home to Phenix City, Alabama. That's HOME! That's what he would always say, and he meant it. 😉 No one could make you feel loved and appreciated the way my uncle did, people from all walks of life was able to approach him and he never made them felt like a stranger, that's the type of man my uncle Harvey Glance was, I am so glad to have known a down to earth man like this as my uncle. The two men that I KNOW he would be so proud of as they are making big accomplishments in their career and are so very humbled, that is his son Mr. Walter Gordy and Olympics Medalist Kirani James, I am very proud of them and I love them too just like as though they're my brothers instead of cousin and very best friend of the family.😊
